Week 53: ONE YEAR DOWN 😮

 Hey everyone!!

So I officially hit a year let's gooooo. It's been a long, hard year. But full of so much growth jts crazy.

This week was actually super good and interesting. It was so crazy I'll go day by day!

Thursday- we got pranked and had our entire car covered in sticky notes. It took the elders who did it over an hour and $25. We also pranked sisters though and siran wrapped their car! Someone we met w gave us his book and signed it. Its about marriage and relationships and has a quote on the back by dr Chapman (5 love language guy). We also got our names in nice calligraphy from a calligraphy teacher!

Friday- my year mark!!!! The Renaud family made me ice cream cake! I burned a shirt too!!! Never thought this day would come wow. They also talked a lot about the second coming and got me insanely freaked out. They feel bad now.

Saturday- spent most of the day on a deep fryer in a food truck making elephant ears (beaver tails) for a fundraiser. Got burned a bit. We also had Michael's baptism (xanders little bro)!!!! Hes so hype.

Sunday- day in brooks! 2 hours from lethbridge! Drove up sat night.  Had a few french lessons, met some french ppl. Had a nice long drive. Spent the evening w the boys watching devotionals and playing games

Monday- 1v1 basketball in a private indoor court of a member. Learned say something on piano

Tuesday- spent the entire day w two other elders as their car was in the shop. 4, 4 man lessons! We then went to the movie theater here and watched a church movie w free popcorn and drinks! Our youth rented it out! We had 6 other elders come and it was an insane p day eve and great movie (fighting preacher)!

All in all a fantastic week! So much teaching, service and fun!

Hope everyone has a good end of summer. Thanks to everyone who has emailed me and supported me this last year. There were times where the support from back home got me through. Whether it was simple kindness and support through email, or Prayer and fasting,  it helped me more than you could know!

I love you all,

Elder Fiore

Week 52: Brabu ra Brabu lesu

 Well, hello there

As you can see from my week numbers, this is a pretty big week. My year mark is this Friday! 365 days tmr though (leap year 😡). I'll talk about it more next week when I'm past a year and on the downhill towards the end. Wouldnt want to jump the gun. But wow it better be a steep downhill since the uphill was so hard. But it's crazy it's been a year since I left on my mission! A tough one for sure!

As far as my final week under a year, we had many lessons! 20! Compared to 1 my first week here! It's the Tahiti grind brought to Canada!

The most unique of those lessons were the one we did in NEPALI!  Super slow English, hand actions and Nepali. A mix of google translate and an 11 year old girl telling us key words! I just repeated God and christ (brabu ra brabu iesu) w hand actions and she'd nod. We even brought a Nepali book of mormon she said she could read. We put it in front of her and turns out, she cant read. It was funny. It really made me realize how good my tahitian actually is.

We got a response to a Book of mormon ad and got an address and drop off time! Turns out it was someone was messing with us. The person we ended up going to was very confused, but  i just turned it into a door to door contact, and he took a book of mormon! He said hed be interested! So accidental door to door- 100% success! Jokes on the trickster responding to the ad! No coincidences! Only Gods plan Lesson of the week.
Thanks for all the support and love!

Have a great week!

Love,
Elder Fiore

Week 51: 10s the Magic Number

\

 Hello!!!

Another week out here in Lethbridge. We had Xanders baptism which was super fun. Him and his mom both cried. It was weird with covid restrictions as there was a max of 10 people (church rules not alberta, it's silly). It was annoying for inviting, ward support and just awkwardness, but still nice of course. Everyone was just happy. Xander bore his testimony which was powerful as well. He's so hype.

We went to IHOP with an old lady for brunch. It wasn't actually that good food wise. But it was the first time in a legit restaurant for like a year I think. Tahiti+covid will do that. It was a fun morning. She also asked the waitress if she wanted to go to church with us. She's a savage.

We did some raspberry picking as service, had an in person zone conference which was surprisingly good, and also a thick meeting with an area 70 (decently high up in the church).

We taught Xander and Micheal's older sister what moses and I both felt was a super good super spiritual lesson. We had just assumed we'd begin teaching her consistently and that she'd progress like her brothers, probably too confidently, in our heads.  We ended inviting her to read the book of mormon and she just slowly shook her head. She said no to reading and to meeting again. We were shook. First time that has happened after a good lesson honestly. I guess it kinda taught me that some people just simply aren't ready for whatever reasons. We can do all we can, I know it brings joy, but it's ultimately each individual choice to accept our message . We were shocked but needed that lesson and humbling.

Have a great week! And thanks for coming along my adventure through words!

Love,

Elder Fiore
