Week 100 Good Things Come in Three

What a week. It was great. Tuesday morning we finally got put in a trio which has been insanely fun as I expected. Our new companion is the most ideal possible too, elder Mazey from Ontario. So I knew him from home a little and get along really well. Its fun getting tight w someone I knew from youth, but didn't know well. So just that has been a blast.

We've been grinding in the day, playing basketball a bit at lunch, games at night and always talking, laughing and having fun. Mazey is also more outgoing and participates a lot more in lessons and visits so that's been super good too. Makes them more fun and everything less pressure.

As far as work goes, we had 3 baptisms this week. Thursday, Saturday, Sunday. They were all kids above 8, 2 of which were inactive families we are trying to help out and their kids come to church with different families, and one was  covid delayed, but needing support too, and a super weird situation. But they were good times.

We also are teaching many still that are doing so well, found a couple more insanely interesting people, with lots of questions and that are "eager to know the truth and read the BOM", and reconnected with some we hadn't met with in a while we werent sure if they were interested! Its insane how well things are going rn and how busy we've been w teaching. Unfortunately a couple baptisms we planned got delayed and some havnt been set, but ill hear about them from home and smile haha.

It was also my birthday this week and it was a great day. Pday before we played spike ball at the temple, got some drinks and hung out. It was a blast. Then on my actual day we got the new companion, an ice cream cake thanks to my district and Rachael, and some fun treats from my mom. And then the rest of the day was missionary work! I always told myself by the time its my 20th birthday I'm pretty much done. So its weird having had that pass.

I guess to end, we were with the Sikstroms this week and he talked about how anytime he feels prideful he just plays golf. He sucks at golf so much it humbles him. And he said it more as a joke, but it got me thinking that we all need a golf in life. I think its kind of a good way to live knowing we have our talents but also our weaknesses, our golfs, and we need to always remember everyone has their thing. We may feel frustrated with others when they suck, but maybe its their golf we are getting annoyed at. That's where we need to be compassionate and help them. Also for ourselves, when we struggle it may just be our golf! We receive an insane amount of blessings and know good things come from humility. So our golf just gets us a soft heart, grace, open mind, lessons, blessings, connection etc etc. Dont be discouraged with your golf but know God gives it to us. And embrace it.

Have a great week!! My last as a missionary :)

Love,

Elder Fiore

Week 99 Water is Great

Thanks for tuning into another week! Can't believe some still follow along!

This week was great! We chose baptismal dates with 5 people and have 7-8 more that are praying about it and have expressed interest, just not sure when yet/ want a bit more time but definitely want to be baptized. So like, holy. When I came we were teaching like 2 people total and one didn't know he was being taught! Its been insanely fun being busy, working with like 20 people, most from the start, but its been stressful trying to keep track of everythjng and everyone. Just constantly thinking about them and how to help. So yea, as you can tell by this paragraph miracles have been happening that are insane. But thats bee the majority of our week!

We also had a meet the president meeting with the Davises and it was so dope. They are so cool and fun and we were right next to the temple. Before the conference elder northcott and I sat out front of the temple and read the book of mormon which was so peaceful. Just thinking abt it I feel more peace. The temple is amazing.

Huge thing i also forgot about is we went on a fun trip last p day! The Trims took us to Lake Louise and Banff which were SOOO BEAUTIFUL. It was rainy a bit at the start but didn't rain on us once we left the car despite being forecasted 60-90 all day. We drove a beautiful hour and a half drive, hit the famous lake louise, then hiked up a bit to mirror lake, then got lunch, then to Banff where we went to hot spring museum, walked around main Street, saw the hotel and got beaver tails. What a day. What a place. I really enjoyed it and will be back. Super grateful the members took us. Lake louise was stunning. The blue shocked me despite having seen pictures!
