Week 84: Member's Service Project for us!

 Gooood morning!

After a fine and boring start to the week, the weekend was awesome!!! So I'll probably focus most of the recap there!

So for Tuesday- Saturday, we had interviews with our mission president which are always great here! We did a comp study with a guy going on a mission soon, hung out with him and we talked to some guys in a park in a strategic place where they couldn't leave or avoid us (they were on bikes, water was behind them and two small step rocky hills both side).

On Saturday we had a lit service project but it was more service to us. We meet with these members weekly, the Jacksons, and were saying how we wanna get outside. They pretty recently purchased an old farm and are doing lots with it so they said we could come by and help. We mainly laid gravel with a wheel barrel then a tractor. The Jackson's parents are serving as senior missionaries in our mission and he taught us how to ride and use the tractor (so it's legit, cause he's a missionary). So we rode the tractor, then cut some firewood, saw their dog eat two mice, and had a campfire with everyone after and roasted hot dogs and mellows. It was so fun and such a beautiful day.

That night we did an Easter presentation advertised on our website all about Christ's final week on Earth and it was really good. We had a group of old ladies and the spirit was really strong. It's cool being able to focus on the true meaning of Easter like that, which is that Christ lives today!

Sunday we had some great sacrament meetings, with some friends coming in person! But the highlight was our dinner! We ate outside on their deck and everything about it was great. The family was so so cool and normal. Both parents served in France so we talked lots about missions. Both parents went to BYU and the dad was in the program I wanna go into. So conversation was easy and super interesting with them. For dinner, them knowing we don't get that much fancy food, we had steak, shrimp and some other meats with sides. It was super good. To end the night we saw his snake rooms. It literally looked like the zoo's reptile area.  He got into snakes and breeding them and stuff fairly recently and has over 55 now. It was so cool. He had super nice enclosures, knew so much about them and their genes and facts. All the little details. It was so fun and interesting. I genuinely never understood why people have snakes until now. He also breeds his own mice to feed them so we saw that set up too! Our favourite sign on one of the mice bins was "babies in march, or else". It was just such an interesting and fun night!

So yea, I seem to be enjoying life a little more when covid is less! It'll keep getting better hopefully. Somedays you really enjoy, somedays just gotta grind through. Can find the good in both. What I know for sure though, is this Easter week we can find the good in Christ. He sacrificed himself for us! The whole easter story is humbling and shows His love for us so well. I'm grateful that he loved us then and does now.

Hope everyone has a great week!! Happy Easter!

The Homecoming!

To say we were excited is an understatement! I spoke with Zach that morning before he left: We were all anxiously awaiting at the airport! ...
