Week 65: No Need to learn Japanese when you can learn the language of love

 Hey everyone!

After a couple weeks on the down low, covid is back present in my life. We had great month of entering homes masked, but can no longer do that. Back to either outdoor, church or zoom. So mainly zoom. That was sad news and zoom meetings really arent too satisfying. But we've had lots! Lots of member appointments and some great lessons!  Tons of cancellations too, unfortunately. It's been tedious and a bit lonely with the restrictions but all good! We adapt

We had a banger lesson with Xander, Micheal, blade and Carmen (recent converts) . They started all together then xander and micheal got in an argument and Xander left. Classic. So we finished with Micheal and the gang and then taught Xander after. It's hard to control them and keep them chill over zoom. But despite that I felt the spirit and they were hyped gospel wise after. I felt we really taught to their needs!

We also had a great lesson with Joe (a student from Japan). I know all the drama in their high school and for their group of friends from them and other teenage members in the area, so we just chatted about high school life, drama, and girls.  I gave Asher (Joe's member friend. It was also his 18th birthday btw) some great dating advice. So great that we briefly broke social distancing rules and he dapped me up.They said they'd never expect advice and questions like I asked from a missionary. I reminded them I'm only a year older. So like 45 minutes just chillin and talking and then a seamless transition to the law of chastity! Great lesson in a church on couches we found that reminded us of a home. I feel like we all really bonded from that lesson and just hanging out a bit. Definitely helped me connect with Joe and Asher and become tight. My love of advice giving always pays off.

This week had some discouraging moments with more restrictions added, and it was definitely hard. But the work goes on. We find joy in the little things and the gospel always! The hard parts here are hard but the good is just so good! I love being a missionary. Some times more than others haha.

Have a great week!! Love you all!

Elder Fiore

I got to the end of the week and realized I had like no pictures. So I told that to our final appointments yesterday and clutched them. Gotta keep it interesting for those who read this far ;). Also they're hype ppl to have pictures of

1. I love sweaters cause ties can be whatever length
2. I really liked this picture a lot. We have angels all around us truly
3.Brother Pinchak! we've met with him weekly since june! He gives us his credit card sometimes to pick up lunch for us all.
4. Us, Japanese Joe, and Asher on his birthday.
5. ZOOM meetings! Classic setup.

Week 64: Date Night! Date Night??

Hey everyone!

Not gonna lie this week wasnt very good.

We had zone conference thursday which was decent but I didnt really like the conference too much, it was long and we had to get needles which made me sick that night.

I also have two brutal cankers, lost my wallet, have felt sick, had a bunch of rule changes (and drama w the change( which meant we cant see other missionaries or use computers.

Lastly,  a random girl tried to frame me and set up texts saying I asked her out on a date. She sent a screenshot of her forged texts to her boyfriend who is also on a mission. He called me and kept accusing me and I was just confused  obviously not knowing what texts he was talking about. He pulled up pictures and they were imessages (I have Samsung LOL) and it just dudnt make any sense. How would I take her out to dinner?? I have someone w me 24/7. Not very well thought out. This girl had randomly messaged me on fb weeks prior and the sisters are teaching her. So that was just wack. But not even a bad part of the week, we found it super interesting and crazy. And very funny tbh. I'm happy with my current situation, thanks.

But on a brighter note, we had exchanges which were a success and helped their area, elder DeMille (on exchange with) played some base for me and it was beautiful (I had chills for one song),  I found my wallet, we got an insane amount of snow (maybe more than I've ever had in one fall) so it looks pretty and weve been shoveling a lot so I'm getting ripped, im learning magic w cards, and the week is over!

The work keeps going and so does life after a not so great week. But even if the week had some lows, it definitely had some Highs and little moments I can appreciate! It's always like that.

Hope everyone has a great next week! And hope no one else gets randomly framed for no reason!

Love,

Elder Fiore

Week 63:Meal Scares

 Hey everyone!

Happy halloween! We didnt do much here tbh. I feel like not many did due to covid. We volunteered at the soup kitchen  and made a very halloween themed meal! We had boo croutons, eyeball meatballs, mummy bread and mud desert! I dressed up as sister mull for Halloween. Meaning I wore her tag.

Another meal "scare" (halloween themed!) was one of our ward mission leaders tried to put us in the dumbest meal calendar where we are fed for 2 weeks and no meals for 1. So dumb. We have 3 wards. I argued it and he wouldn't budge. Even my comp was being so annoying saying not to say anything then saying "I'm so passive haha".  Thank goodness our other ward leaders were fully on my side in our other wards and came in CLUTCH. Now we got it daily.

We had two exchanges this week and they were fun. Overnight and everything. They're literally my favourite! We had some banger lessons too where we felt the spirit strongly

A funny happening was a spiritual thought weaver choked on where he brought up a talk, said that he liked the talk, rambled but shared nothing. He Paused. Then whispered to me "wanna add something", then I whispered back "you havnt shared a thought yet" so he switched talks and read a random quote then didnt explain it. So at least that gave me something to come in on. It was horrible.
But yea, the thought we shared in the end was the sister Craig quote (paraphrased) "what's something you're not doing that you can start doing and what's something you are doing you should stop doing". I love that quote bcs progression comes slowly and one little thing at a time. If we constantly ask that question we will constantly improve little by little and become more Christ- like. Progression comes slow!

I'm hyped it's now Christmas vibes! November is sick that way. Start feeling that christmas spirit already!

Hope everyone has a great week and good start to November!

The Homecoming!

To say we were excited is an understatement! I spoke with Zach that morning before he left: We were all anxiously awaiting at the airport! ...
